James Crowe, president of Caravelle Corporation, presented a $1,000 check to Evalyn Adams, coordinator of Turkeys & More. From left: Barbara Fillmore, Crowe and Adams. Adams said it was wonderful to receive this donation as she remembers working with Crowe when she served as Executive Officer of NIBCA from 1976 to 1985. Crowe is a past president of NIBCA and was also Co-Chairman of the One Day House built in Post Falls more than 30 years ago. She said she remembers Jim getting his law degree from Gonzaga after he phased back from his building and developing business. Crowe was presented several Pro Bono Awards from both Washington and Idaho for helping the indigent in construction issues when they could not afford an attorney. Adams feels so thankful to have the support from friends like Crowe to help buy turkeys and holiday food for 1,800 families at Thanksgiving. She also thanked Barbara and James Fillmore for their recent donation of $1,000. Barbara serves as treasurer of Turkeys & More and James is the "official" photographer. Although these donations have helped Turkeys & More go over the halfway mark in their fundraising goals, more funds will be needed soon to be able to order the turkeys as there is supposed to be a shortage and need to be bought now. Checks made out to Heart Reach Inc. — the nonprofit sponsor — can be mailed to Director Myndi Sizemore, Heart of City Church, 772 W. Kathleen Ave., Coeur d'Alene, ID 83815. Put Turkeys & More on the memo line. For more information, contact Adams at 208-765-5535.
