LOCAL WATCH: Former Post Falls star Munday shines for San Diego at Gonzaga

Gonzaga 25-13, 25-16, 25-21: At Spokane, Kylie Munday, a freshman setter from Post Falls High, had 42 assists and seven digs for the Toreros (6-5) in a sweep of the Bulldogs (1-10) in the West Coast Conference opener for both at the Martin Centre. Autumn Larson had 11 kills for Gonzaga.

Washington State d. Santa Clara 25-12, 18-25, 25-19, 25-21: At Santa Clara, Calif., Katy Ryan, a senior from Lakeland High, had eight kills and one block for the Cougars (6-4) in a win over the Broncos (4-6) in the West Coast Conference opener for both at the Leavey Center.

Idaho State d. Eastern Washington 25-20, 25-22, 21-25, 26-24: At Pocatello, Tanai Jenkins, a redshirt junior from Lake City High, had seven blocks for the Eagles (4-7) in a loss to the Bengals (10-3) in the Big Sky Conference opener for both at Reed Gym.

Portland State d. Idaho 25-17, 25-18, 21-25, 25-20: At Moscow, Madu Fontes had 12 kills and Natalia Wielgus 21 assists for the Vandals (1-11) in a loss to the Vikings (2-10) in the Big Sky Conference opener for both schools at Memorial Gym.
