New councilor chosen in Post Falls, one seat still vacant
POST FALLS – City officials have announced Ryan Davis was selected to fill an open council position after a special city council meeting Tuesday.
The seat was previously held by Kenny Shove, who moved out of the city.
In a news release, officials shared Davis' background serving 10 years on the Post Falls planning and zoning committee and as the executive director of the Boys and Girls Club of Kootenai County from 2006-20.
Davis also has experience working in commercial banking and is currently the Precinct 504 committeeman with the Kootenai County Republican Central Committee.
“I am grateful to Mayor Jacobson and the other city council members for trusting me to fill this role," Davis stated in the announcement. "I look forward to working collaboratively with the council to represent the interests of the residents of Post Falls.”
Mayor Ron Jacobson thanked everyone who submitted applications for their willingness to serve the community and stated that, “while we were saddened to lose Councilor Shove, I am excited to welcome Councilor Davis. Ryan has demonstrated his commitment to the people of Post Falls for many years, and he brings a wealth of experience to the city council that will benefit the residents of the city.”
Davis will serve out the remainder of the term, which ends January 2026.
The City Council is also slated to choose a new member to fill council seat two on Dec. 17 after the resignation of Councilor Josh Walker.
