LIBRARIES: New trustee is qualified
Regarding Jean Richardson’s letter entitled “LIBRARIES: Is this what voters wanted?”
Ms. Richardson states that Tony Ambrosetti, the new trustee, is “less qualified” than Michelle Lippert. According to the posted Trustee Job Description, the only requirements for these volunteers is to be over the age of 18 and be able to spend 5-10 hours per month on district business. Ms. Richardson then proceeds to state, without evidence, that Ambrosetti was chosen “only” because of his religion and ideology. According to the Trustee Job Description, “trustees represent the public interest in libraries.” It appears to me that Ms. Richardson’s real complaint is not lack of experience but that, from her perspective, Ambrosetti does represent her interests — her preferred religion and ideology.
