Invocation lottery open in Coeur d’Alene

Registration to give the invocation before Coeur d'Alene City Council meetings next year will be accepted from Friday through Dec. 13.

The council is scheduled to meet 24 times in 2025, and dates will be assigned at the time of the lottery, starting with the first meeting Jan. 7.

Invocations were traditionally given by Christian pastors. During the City Council meeting Aug. 16, 2022, the council voted to allow nonprofit, faith-based organizations within the city limits to offer opening prayers at City Council meetings.
