Larry Jamison, 87

| March 26, 2024 1:00 AM

Larry Lee Jamison, 87, was born May 3, 1936. Hometown of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, sadly left us March 7, 2024, following a massive stroke. Larry was a well-known person in the community of Cd'A, where he worked as a manager/butcher in the family-owned business of YJ Foods. Larry was a very kind, giving, and loving soul like his parents, Moose and Neita Jamison. YJ Foods was a butcher shop, grocery store, BBQ pit and gas station. YJ had a wildlife area with elk, monkeys and a beautiful lioness named Simba, who Larry loved and adored. Larry would wear a costume and cape known as “the Grocery Man,” and if you were approached by him, he would give you a gift. His fun-loving spirit, joyful smile and warm greetings will be missed by all of us who remain. Larry and his dad, Moose, would make deliveries to all the rural areas and give generously to those in need. But Larry’s most important job was being an uncle. His sister, nephews and niece will all tell you wonderful memories of time spent with him.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Moose and Neita Jamison, brother Stan Jamison, sister Ann Davis and nephew Patrick Jamison.

Larry is survived by his sister Catherine Lavelle Donovan, sister-in-law Arlene Jamison, four nephews, Mike Jamison, Dan Jamison, Grant Sande, Larry Sande, and niece Debbie (Donovan) Meredith, along with many other relatives.

Larry was most commonly known as Unc, who loved the Lord, life, country, community, family, friends and all creatures. He led his life by showing unconditional love each day and was a wonderful example of how to be a great person. He was an angel on earth and we will forever carry him with us in our hearts. We say goodbye to him on earth but will one day say hello again in heaven.
