Kelly Jo Brewer, 65
Kelly Jo Brewer was born Oct. 13, 1958, and passed away Feb. 17, 2024. Kelly was born to Beta Brewer and Robert Hogan of Spokane, Wash.
Kelly is preceded by her mother, Beta Brewer, her father, Bob Hogan, and brothers Todd Brewer and Scott Hogan.
She is survived by her stepmother, Judy Hogan, and sisters Sharlee Colby, Donna Elkins, Tonya Hogan-Stone and Becky Brewer-Ross, her brothers, Jay Smith and Casey Brewer, and her two children, Kyle Evenson and Haley Brewer (Jake), and grandchildren Hunter and Harper.
As a teenager, Kelly worked at Dick’s Hamburgers in Spokane, she then went on to bartend at the family bar (Beta’s/Chillers) for several years. Kelly also worked at the Cold Water Creek call center for a couple of years before transitioning to working at the call center at Avista Utilities for over a decade.
Kelly found boredom in retirement and decided to work with the underprivileged, which she enjoyed more than words can express.
Kelly was an amazing woman, full of love, courage, laughter and not one ounce of shame. Her ability to laugh at herself started at a young age, from walking into street signs to getting into the wrong car. It never mattered your mood; she was sure to make you laugh.
Kelly was fortunate enough to create many meaningful relationships with people from all walks of life. She taught those around her how to love harder and deeper than we ever knew love was capable of, and how to be tough in soft situations and soft in tough situations. Her love was unconditional like you had never seen before.
Kelly’s loved ones will continue to send forth her love, laughter and light throughout their lives and into their relationships as she did. Kelly left an impact on every person she encountered, and words do not describe how much she will be missed.
There will be a celebration of life Saturday, March 23, from 2 to 6 p.m. at the Coeur d’Alene Eagles (upstairs), 209 Sherman Ave., Coeur d’Alene, ID 83814.
