James 'Jim' William Waltz, 90

On April 15, 2024, James W. Waltz passed away from natural causes at The Schneidmiller Hospice House. Jim was born in Lebanon, Pa., to Albert and Dorothy Waltz on Dec. 3, 1933. He graduated from Lebanon High School in 1951. In 1953, he entered the United States Air Force and served for four years. He later served in the Air National Guard for a total of 27 years of military service.  

With his first wife Beverly Newell, he had three children: Brenda Hool, James Waltz Jr. (Marilyn) and Brian Waltz (Misty).  

In 1982, Jim moved to Post Falls, Idaho. He was remarried to Dyann Zamora and gained two stepsons, Dave Zamora and Joe Zamora.

Jim retained many buddies of the Air National Guard, and they loved talking about previous summer camps and recounting their hilarious adventures, some of which included trips to Germany. 

Jim also spent over 30 years as a printer on large printing presses. He retired from printing in 1995. He leaves behind his loving wife, Dyann, his three children, two step-children, eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, all of whom will miss him deeply. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Dorothy, and his son-in-law, Glenn Hool.  

A funeral service will be held Friday, May 3, 2024, at 10 a.m. at Bell Tower Funeral Home Chapel, 3398 E. Jenalan Ave., Post Falls, ID 83854. The graveside service with Military Honors will follow the chapel service at Evergreen Cemetery in Post Falls, Idaho.
