Norma June (Sweatt) Ziegler, 91

Norma June Ziegler, 91, of Coeur d’Alene (Blanchard), Idaho, passed away to be with her Lord and Savior peacefully, surrounded by her family at the Schneidmiller Hospice House on March 14, 2024.

She was born July 1, 1932, in Esther, Mo., to Hugh and Rella (Parks) Sweatt. She married Thomas “Tom” Ziegler in Piggott, Ark., on June 11, 1951. Tom and Norma resided in Missouri, California and the Seattle area and then moved permanently to North Idaho (Blanchard) in 1988.

Norma loved the Lord, her family and friends. She enjoyed camping, fishing, working in the yard, being with family and cooking. Norma was a fabulous cook and no one ever left her home hungry.

Norma’s survivors include her two sons, Thomas W. Ziegler Jr. of Florida and Mark S. Ziegler of Rathdrum, Idaho; two daughters, Kimberly A. Potter of Helena, Mont., and Julie A. Vaughan of Hayden, Idaho; brother Hugh J. (HJ) Sweatt of Mississippi; 11 grandchildren, Shane, Seth, Cody, Jennifer, Joshua, Justin, Newly, Carly, Sarah, Derek and Brandon; and 16 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, Hugh and Rella, husband Tom (on Dec. 15, 2000, and granddaughter Shelley.

The family will be gathering at a later date to celebrate the life of Norma Ziegler.
