Glenn Thiele, 91
With heartfelt sorrow, we announce the passing of Glenn Roy Thiele, who peacefully departed this world at the Hospice of North Idaho facility April 3, 2024.
Glenn was born Jan. 2, 1933, in Nine Mile Falls, Wash., to Adolph and Myrtle (Dahlin) Thiele. Glenn served with the U.S. Army at Fort Lewis, Wash.
On July 15, 1956, Glenn was married to Helen Irene Madison. They would have celebrated 68 years of marriage this coming summer!
For over 39 years, Glenn dedicated himself to cultivating roses at Hughes Greenhouse in Post Falls, Idaho, and spent countless hours tending to his own gardens at home. Additionally, he poured his heart into raising, breeding and trading hundreds of pigeons, finding delight in observing their graceful flights.
Glenn's zest for life was evident in his passion for traveling the world, learning about animals and astronomy, meeting new people and sharing tales of his adventures with those around him. He found joy in attending dances, showcasing his grace and fluidity alongside Helen on the dance floor.
Glenn leaves behind his devoted wife, Helen, his daughter, Toni Caywood, and his son, Neil (Vivian) Thiele, both of Post Falls. In addition, his five grandchildren, Lindsay Sargis, David Neu, Devon (Julie) Thiele, Allison Johnson and Darren (Alisha) Thiele, as well as his three great-grandchildren, Jaxon Kness, Eno Sargis and Lyra Johnson, will sorely miss their Grandpa Glenn.
Glenn's unwavering commitment to nurturing relationships with his family and friends leaves an indelible mark on all who knew him. His memory will forever be cherished in the hearts of those he touched.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 27, at Mountain View Bible Church, 3974 N. Chase Road Post Falls, ID 83854.
