REGAN: Not telling the truth

| November 12, 2023 1:00 AM

In response to Brent Regan’s piece, Death of the Primary, I want to ask you Brent — why do you feel compelled to lie to get your way? That’s what a child does. Your opinion that Reclaim Idaho signature gatherers are paid is false. Your claim that Reclaim is Soros funded is so false, it’s laughable. I’ve volunteered on and off for Reclaim Idaho for four years now. I’ve collected signatures and notarized full signature pages to be submitted to the Clerk of the Court. Reclaim Idaho has hundreds of volunteers across the state. Nobody gets paid to collect signatures. It might be beyond your comprehension that someone would volunteer to collect signatures, because you’re used to throwing your money around to make change, but we are just that — volunteers. We volunteer because we care about our community, and we want to see voters have equal opportunity to register and vote as they please.

Our community needs to be cautioned that Brent’s opinions are filled with lies. He lied about Reclaim Idaho’s Medicaid expansion initiative too, and then unsuccessfully tried to block it in court after voters passed it with a supermajority. Brent is worried that open primaries would prevent his beloved extremists from being elected. Before you believe anything he says, do your own research. Reclaim Idaho is a PAC, and their donations and expenditures are public record on the Idaho Secretary of State website. Did you even try to look for the truth, Brent? I think we all know the answer to that.
