DOGS: Many at center abandoned or ‘knowingly lost’

It breaks my heart every time I go to the Companions Animal Shelter (formerly Kootenai Humane Society) website. There are currently 36 medium to large breed dogs up for adoption. The majority of those are terrier/pit mix.

We adopted a terrier/pit mix from there last year, Max (formerly Miguel). He gives the best snuggles, hugs and kisses. His personality keeps us laughing all the time.

Don’t let prejudices get in the way of adopting a dog.

It angers me to see that the majority of those dogs are brought in from the local animal control.

Someone either purposefully abandoned their dog or knowingly lost their pet and refuse to look for them.

I thought Idahoans were better than that, it appears I was wrong.

I do want to thank the staff and volunteers at Companion Animal Shelter for their hard work and dedication.
