Terry L. Holman, 80
Terry Leigh Holman March 4, 1941 — March 3, 2022
Terry L. Holman passed into the loving arms of Christ Thursday, March 3, 2022, in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. He was 80 years old.
Terry was the first child of Keith and Evelyn Holman. He was born and raised in Spokane, Wash. Terry spent his childhood water skiing, boating and swimming at Hayden Lake, Idaho. No matter where he lived throughout his life, Hayden Lake was always home. After retiring in 2011, he was able to realize his dream of living "up the lake" full-time.
An avid recreational pilot, Terry was well-known in general aviation circles up and down the West Coast, from the "Geezer Patrol" of Upland, Calif., to the "Huckleberry Seaplane Pilots Association" of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. His aviation adventures included excursions to Mexico, Canada, Alaska, as well as multiple trips across the continental United States.
In 2011, Terry retired as president of Met-Tile Inc., a roofing manufacturing company based in Ontario, Calif., where he worked for nearly 20 years. He had previously worked as general manager of the Lamplighter Lodge in the Spokane Valley (now Mirabeau Park Hotel). Terry also served for several years in the Washington Air National Guard. He was a member of the Central Valley High School Class of 1960.
Terry will be remembered for his sense of humor and loving generosity. Always available for a light-hearted chat on airplanes or politics at the local airport cafe, his loyal dedication to family and friends will be dearly missed.
Terry is survived by his sister, Nancy; sons, Keith, Brian and Thomas; daughter-in-law Kristin; and granddaughter Virginia. A viewing will be held on Thursday, March 10, from noon – 2 p.m. followed by a funeral service at 2 p.m. at Yates Funeral Home in Coeur d'Alene (744 N. Fourth St., Coeur d'Alene, ID 83814). Flowers may be sent to the funeral home.
