NIC to present Spring Choral concert Tuesday
North Idaho College choirs will present a Spring Choral Concert at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.
The free concert will take place in Boswell Hall Schuler Performing Arts Center on NIC’s main campus in Coeur d’Alene.
“We are looking forward to the last concert of an amazing year for our choirs,” said director and NIC professor Max Mendez said. “This concert will be a celebration of many different genres. From the great tradition of the Renaissance madrigal to American musical theatre, there will be something for everyone.”
Mendez celebrates his 17th year as director of choirs at NIC. Under his direction, choirs have traveled to Mexico City, San Francisco and New York City to perform. In addition to the Cardinal Chorale and Chamber Singers, Mendez also directs NIC’s commercial music ensemble called Cardinal Voices.
Tuesday's concert features the NIC Cardinal Chorale and NIC Chamber Singers performing music by Richard Rodgers, Andrew Lloyd-Webber, Rollo Dilworth and regional composer Reginald Unterseher of Richland, Wash.
The NIC choirs and instrumental ensembles are comprised of NIC students, faculty, staff and community members.
