The 6-foot-2 junior post hit a 30-footer at the buzzer to lift the Lumberjacks past North Fremont 45-43 in the state 2A boys basketball semifinals Friday at Eagle High. The next day, St. Maries went on to win its first state title since 1960. "From our first game of the year he asked me if he could shoot 3s this year and I said 'Prove to me that you can make 40% and you have the green light.' He did," coach Bryan Chase said. "He doesn't shoot a lot of them but he really does shoot them at a high percentage. The shot he made at the state tournament is something that every kid dreams about growing up."
