Reuben Frank Mendy

Reuben was born to Velma Valentine and Benjamin Mendy on Aug. 30, 1937, and passed away Jan. 16, 2021, at Schneidmiller Hospice House in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.

Reuben loved his family, but mostly his grandchildren. Reuben married Darlene Gilman on Feb. 29, 1960. They resided in Shoshone County, Idaho, where Reuben worked as a miner.

Reuben is survived by his wife, Darlene, at the family home in Post Falls, Idaho; his children, Don Mendy (Angie) of Osburn. Idaho, Timothy Mendy (Durie) of Wallace, Idaho, Wade Mendy (Mahalla) of Kellogg, Idaho, and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; his brothers, Harold Mendy (Romona) of Kellogg, Jack Mendy of Kellogg and Alex Mendy of Smelterville, Idaho; and his sister, Penny (Berna) Warren of Kellogg.

Reuben is preceded in death by his parents; his son, Jimmy Mendy; his daughters, Brenda Mendy and Lisa Mendy; his brothers, Phillip Mendy, Cecil Mendy, Bernard Mendy and Dale Mendy; and his sisters, Myrtle Mendy, Audrey Hoffman and Theresa Mendy.

A celebration of life was held for Reuben at noon on Jan. 31, 2021 at the Kellogg Elks in Kellogg.
