Hayden’s Strawberry Fields — fruitful opportunity for quality living
Nestled just off Prairie Avenue and west of Ramsey Road, Hayden’s Strawberry Fields neighborhood sits squarely in one of the most in-demand residential areas for families in North Idaho. Prairie divides the line between Hayden and Coeur d’Alene here, but this is essentially an established offshoot of what started out as Coeur d’Alene Place.
Most of the streets are named after fruit, making the neighborhood even cooler in the eyes of this particular writer. When we last wrote about the neighborhood back in 2017, we spent a lot of time talking about Salmonberry Loop. Salmonberries are raspberry-like, apparently, and I STILL haven’t tried one since making a big deal about it in 2017.
Though it’s gotten busier in recent years, Prairie remains a convenient entryway to amenities in Hayden and Coeur d’Alene just east at Highway 95, or you can head west and connect to Highway 41, which will then take you directly into either Post Falls or Rathdrum. Key amenities along Prairie are now seconds away, and the next neighborhood over from Strawberry Fields houses Stoddard Park, a two-acre space that includes The Pasture and Silo Stage, picnic area, walking paths, public restrooms and more.
Strawberry Fields touts established-but-modern homes with some streets that include cul-de-sacs and less through traffic. You’re basically only going to see people who live there, unless it’s some tourist who notices all those sweet fruit street names.
You can also find quite a bit of information on the neighborhood by visiting the website of its homeowners association — StrawberryFieldsHayden.com.
We’re looking at Strawberry Fields now because of a couple of recently released listings. With the market in a continued flurry, it’s always notable when more than one home is available at any given time, though it may be that they may be pending before this article reaches print.
The newer listings include a three-bedroom, two-bathroom home with more than 1,700 square feet with a covered deck, storage shed and versatile outdoor spaces. Price: $435,000. On the larger side is another newish listing — a four-bedroom, three-bedroom home with just under 2,700 square feet with large master suite and plenty of indoor and outdoor space for entertaining. Price: $565,000. Both homes were built in the mid-2000s.
There are three pending listings located a bit closer to Stoddard Park on the far end of Strawberry Fields. All three were larger homes (two of them had close to 3,700 square feet, and one of those had six bedrooms. The listed price range between them was about $610,000 to $675,000.
At press time, there was one other home still listed as available in the system, a three-bedroom home with more than 1,800 square feet on a street with Blueberry in the name.
Now, somebody send me some salmonberries.
