Residents asked to limit Citylink use
Residents are being reminded to limit their use of Citylink over the next three weeks during Gov. Brad Little’s stay-home order.
“People rely on Citylink North regular routes, as well as the Paratransit and Ring-a-Ride senior programs, to get to medical appointments, grocery shopping, and to get to work for those people in essential jobs,” according to a press release from Kootenai County public transportation. “We realize our service is vital to the community and many people depend on us.”
Citylink has implemented additional stringent cleaning and sanitization measures to help keep riders safe and asks them to maintain at least 6 feet apart.
Citylink, when in full operation, transports an average of 50,000 passengers a month in Benewah and Kootenai counties. Its network has more than 150 stops and is spread across 200 miles of road.
“We ask that you limit all discretionary travel to allow those who need to travel to do so safely,” the release said.
