Brian Stephen Drake, 45

| March 19, 2020 1:00 AM

Our dearest, Brian Stephen Drake, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 12, 2020.

Brian was born on Oct. 29, 1974, in Corpus Christi, Texas. Brian grew up in Jackson, Miss., where he attended First Presbyterian Day School and Jackson Prep. He loved playing football and soccer for Prep, and his high school sports friends remained dear to him throughout his life. He played football for Mississippi College before moving to Montana. Brian attended Riverwood Bible Church, where he was baptized, as well as First Baptist Church, both in Jackson.

Shortly after meeting her at Easthaven Baptist Church in Kalispell, Mont., Brian declared that he would marry Jennifer Miller. They wed in 1999 and moved to Texas, where Brian earned his doctorate in chiropractic at Parker University and Brian opened up his first clinic.

In 2012, the Drakes moved to Idaho to be closer to Jen’s family — a move also influenced by Brian’s love for the great outdoors. Brian loved and was extremely active at Heart of the City Church in Coeur d’Alene, where he served on the worship team. He often said that if he could not be a chiropractor, he would have pursued a career in music. His guitar was always close by.

Brian was a giant among men — in physical size, in strength of spirit and in the great love he had for his Lord, which drove his service to his family, his friends and his church. Brian brought laughter and joy and fun everywhere he went.

Brian leaves behind his treasured wife, Jennifer, and their four children: Brenner (16), Hudson (14), Asher (12) and Aubrey (11), as well as his parents Jerry and Kathy Drake and siblings Ruth Taylor (Mickle), Jonny Drake (Catherine) and Chad Drake (Pamela), and many nieces and nephews.

A service worshiping our Lord and celebrating Brian’s life will be held on Friday, March 20, 2020. As details are still being arranged, information regarding time and location will be published on “Brian S. Drake Memorial” Facebook page. A livestream of the service will be broadcast on that site as well.
