'K9 Manus...rest in peace'

The Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office said goodbye to one of its own last week.

K9 Manus was laid to rest Friday after suffering medical issues.

“K9 Manus was a loved member of our Sheriff’s Office family and will be greatly missed,” said an announcement from the Sheriff’s Office. “It is with heavy hearts that we must say goodbye to K9 Manus.”

K9 Manus began his career in 2013 with his K9 handler, Deputy Lyons. Lyons and K9 Manus were responsible for multiple suspect apprehensions and numerous drug apprehensions each year.

“K9 Manus was a loyal and courageous partner to Deputy Lyons during his career,” said the Sheriff’s Office. “K9 Manus, your watch is over. Rest in peace.”
