MaryAnn Torp (Pirrie)
July 12, 1940 — Feb. 18, 2019
It is with great sadness that the family of MaryAnn Torp announces her passing on Monday, Feb. 18, 2019, at the age of 78 years.
MaryAnn will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 60 years, Emil, and her children, Randy and Shanna. She was predeceased by her loving son, Kevin Torp; her mother, Lucille Merriman and father, William Pirrie. MaryAnn will be forever remembered by her brothers and sisters, Roy, Vickie, Bill and Becky. She will also be lovingly missed by her grandchildren, Kara, Michael, Tianna, Danielle, Kevin Jr., Randy Jr., Dominic, Michelle, Ridge and Evann, and great-grandchildren, Dash, Camden, Mason, Zane and Brooke. She will also be forever remembered by her numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and extended family and dear friends from the Surrendered Hearts Bible Study, North Country Chapel and The Coeur d‘Alene Coin Club.
MaryAnn was born in Billings, Mont. She moved to California in the 1960s and retired back into God’s country, in Idaho.
She loved her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, family and friends. Her heart was always thinking of others and she gave back to local charities and causes. She loved her country and had strong religious beliefs.
MaryAnn was considered as an amazing cook and loved experimenting with recipes to feed her love to all. She was an active member, and held many responsibilities, with the Coeur d‘Alene Coin Club, as her husband, Emil was a president for many years. Her love and devotion to God brought her to the Surrendered Hearts Bible Study, where she had everlasting friendships in fellowship. She loved to crochet and her pieces are absolutely beautiful. She also enjoyed a variety of other arts and crafts. She loved fashion, shopping and was ever-so-elegant in any event.
The loss of MaryAnn is tremendous and she will forever be remembered as the matriarch of the Torp family. Her devotion to her family and friends will be terribly missed and forever loved.
Everyone who knew her is welcome to attend funeral services for Mary Ann Torp, to be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 1, 2019, at North Country Chapel, 2281 W. Seltice Way, Post Falls, ID 83854. Graveside services will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, 2834 N. Spokane St., Post Falls, and a reception gathering will follow that with the Surrendered Hearts Bible Study at Community Presbyterian Church, 417 N. Williams St., in Post Falls.
