Here comes an election And here's what voters should know
COEUR d’ALENE — Early voting starts on Monday for the March 12 election, which includes school funding proposals and a Dalton Gardens attempted recall of city officials.
The Coeur d'Alene, Post Falls, Lakeland and Plummer-Worley school districts are floating levy funding proposals. The city of Dalton Gardens is also holding a recall election for the mayor and City Council members.
Early voting will be 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday through March 8 at the County Elections Office, 1808 N. Third St., Coeur d'Alene.
Voters should bring photo identification.
New registrants and voters who have moved or changed names must re-register. They must bring a photo ID and proof of residency such as a utility bill or auto insurance certificate with the voter’s current residence address listed and dated at least 30 days prior to their voting date.
Polls will be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on March 12.
Voters must go to their designated polling place on Election Day.
Voters who want an absentee ballot mailed to them need to submit their request by 5 p.m. on Friday.

Postage on returned ballots will be paid by Kootenai County.
A pre-election ballot-counting accuracy test will be held at the Elections Office on Monday, March 11, at 9:30 a.m.
Those who attend will be able to observe the tabulating process and ask questions. It’s open to the public.
