Terrance Allen Pennington, 56

Terrance Allen Pennington was born May 2, 1962, in Seattle, Wash., to Ned T. Pennington and Susan N. Pennington (Scott). Terry passed away Feb. 12, 2019, at 1436, in his new home located in Post Falls that they won through the North Idaho College raffle in September of 2018.

Terry grew up in eastern Washington, where he lettered in football, basketball and baseball while in Oakville, Wash. He graduated from Coeur d’Alene High School in 1980.

Terry was married to Anjelique Renee Didier on Oct. 31, 2015, in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. Through Terry’s love, grace and forgiveness he has honored their marriage and God through his walk with Jesus Christ.

Terry had so much love in his heart for his family, children and friends.

Terry once said to his wife, “God put us on this journey together and I have to believe we will both get EXACTLY what our souls and hearts have wanted for a long time. Now starts the hard work to get there. I believe in Jesus Christ and I know in my heart this was part of his plan. I have done my best to weather the storms of the ups and downs with Grace, Love, and Dignity in my heart.”

Terry was in the U.S. Navy from Sept. 1, 1981, to Aug. 27, 1985.

Terry resided in Post Falls, Idaho, with his wife, Anjelique, in the new home they won through NIC.

Terry completed the 2005 Coeur d’Alene Ironman and many other triathlons. His first Ironman was started not knowing how to swim at all. And he hadn’t bicycled or ran since high school. Terry also enjoyed camping, fly fishing, golfing and traveling, especially to Mexico. He enjoyed playing card games and reading the Bible with his wife. Terry loved woodworking and inventing things; he is also known for inventing the “Baby Bottle Buddy.”

Terry attended The Altar Church. He was also a part of community sobriety groups and found his sobriety despite his lifelong struggles. Terry had also been involved in providing gifts for families and their children during the difficult holiday seasons.

Terry is survived by his loving wife, Anjelique of Post Falls; son, Jacob Pennington and wife, Tally; grandchildren, Taylor and Alexis; daughter, Sarah Nixon; step-children, Cody, Kevin, Kyle and Katarina Tillinghast; brother, Tom and wife, Laura, and brother, Tim. He is also survived by his father, Ned, and stepmother, Mary, as well as extended family, nieces, nephews and many beloved friends. Terry is reunited in heaven with his mom, Sue; grandmas, Eilen Morse and Helen Scott; and son-in-law, Bryce Nixon.

In honor of Terry Pennington, I found this quote: “When tomorrow starts without me, please try to understand, that an angel came and called my name and took me by the hand; the angel said my place was ready, in Heaven far above, that I’d have to leave behind all those I dearly love. But when I walk through Heaven’s Gates, I felt so much at home, for God looked down, smiled at me, and told me ‘Welcome Home.’

“So when tomorrow starts without me, don’t think we’re far apart, for every time you think of me, I’m right there in your heart.”

Terry you will forever be loved, missed, and cherished in the hearts of many. I love you baby.

Terrance Allen Pennington’s celebration of life service will be held at 3 p.m. on March 3, 2019, at The Altar Church, 901 E. Best Ave., Coeur d’Alene, ID 83814.

A Gofundme account has been set up to help pay for expenses under the name of Anjelique Pennington on her Facebook page.
