CDA: Support school requests

| February 22, 2019 12:00 AM

Tuesday, March 12 is a very important voting day in Coeur d’Alene. On the ballot is the renewal of the M&O levy and the Construction Bond for the Coeur d’Alene School District. For both items, we have the opportunity to vote “yes” without raising tax rates.

I am a proud product of the public education system and have two children who will soon begin their education in the Coeur d’Alene public school district. By renewing the M&O levy and Construction Bond, we have the opportunity to support fundamental services and programs that give students the tools and opportunities to succeed. Failure to pass the levy will result in the loss of district jobs, and force compromised decisions impacting the education offered to our children. A ‘YES’ vote not only signals support of our public school system and incredible educators, but also represents an investment to the future growth of our community.

I hope you will join me in voting YES on March 12 for the renewal of our public schools’ M&O Levy and the Construction Bond. Vote YES for the future of Coeur d’Alene.

JEAN CARPER
