CHART: The thing about bias
You couldn’t miss the huge front-page chart on Sunday showing the so-called “media bias chart.” After looking it over and reading the article, I couldn’t help but ask myself three questions.
1. What makes this research any different or believable than the charts presented by the fact finders on both sides of climate change?
2. What political leanings does Vanessa Otero and the organization she works for, have. One thing all research, and so-called fact finding charts have in common is humans. There are no two humans on this planet who will read, see, hear, feel or react to one single thing exactly alike.
Finally, 3. Are we to believe that any human can overcome 100 percent of any subconscious bias?
My dad used to say, “Don’t believe anything you hear and only half of what you see.” I don’t know if he held to that all the time but I’m sure when he did, it kept him out of a lot of trouble.
