Thomas ‘Tiger’ W. Moore III

Thomas “Tiger” W. Moore III died at age 45 on Feb. 11, 2019.

Thomas was born in Spokane, Wash., to Thomas and Joan Moore on April 3, 1973. Five years later, his family moved to Lewiston, Idaho, where he chose to begin school under his affectionate nickname, Tiger. He never answered to another name. His childhood nurtured a lifelong love of all things Star Wars and saw him grow into an intelligent, handsome, athletic young man who graduated from Lewiston High School in 1991. He then moved to Moscow, Idaho, to attend the University of Idaho, where he joined the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity. A few years later Tiger followed friends to Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, where he worked, bought a home, completed a computer science degree and settled into a pleasant life that suited him perfectly.

Tiger never wasted time on mundane tasks that pulled him away from his favorite activities… reading, watching the Braves or Falcons play ball, viewing shows or movies, listening to music and grabbing a beer with friends. Most importantly, he loved playing games of ANY kind, including games of the card, ball, board, dice, video and computer variety. Although Tiger lived alone he was a lifelong friend to his fraternity brothers, loved sharing holidays with his mom and was considered an honorary brother, uncle and son to the families of his Coeur d’Alene friends.

To those who knew Tiger well, his alter egos will be equally missed. He had the fierce pride and stature of a Viking, the commanding presence of Darth Vader and the loyal kindness of Tigger. There is definitely a Tiger-shaped void left in the hearts of many that will always echo with the sound of his deep chuckle and complaints that his controller isn’t working properly.

Tiger was preceded in death by his father, uncle, cousin, grandparents and his pet cat (named Cat). He is survived by his mother, Joan Moore of Lewiston; daughter, Jordan Schriber and grandson, Aiden Schriber of Colorado.

A memorial tribute will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 23, 2019, at the home of Jamie Howard, 716 A St., Coeur d’Alene. Please join Tiger’s friends and family to honor and share his memory, and toast the best scorekeeper that ever lived!

A gathering for Tiger will also be held in Lewiston from 1 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, March 2, 2019, at the Red Lion Hotel, 621 21st Street.

In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Kootenai Humane Society, 11650 N. Ramsey Road, Hayden, ID 83835, or to the Lewis-Clark Animal Shelter, 6 Shelter Road, Lewiston, ID 83501 would be greatly appreciated.
