SANDPOINT — Ben Zubaly scored 23 points and Jaret Taylor added 14 as the Lakeland Hawks beat the Sandpoint Bulldogs 69-49 on Thursday night in 4A Inland Empire League play at Les Rogers Court.

Noah Haaland had 10 points and eight rebounds for Lakeland (8-10, 2-2 4A IEL), and his brother Josiah Haaland grabbed 10 rebounds.

“Things are starting to come together for us, hopefully at the right time,” Lakeland assistant coach Tyrel Derrick said. “Ben and Jaret are starting to spur things for us. And Noah was really aggressive. He attacked the boards, and affected a lot of their shots with his length.”

Ryan Roos led Sandpoint (7-11, 0-4) with 20 points.

Lakeland plays Sandpoint on Monday at 6 p.m. at North Idaho College in the first round of the 4A Region 1 tournament. The winner advances to face top-seeded Moscow in a best-of-3 series for the region’s lone berth to state.
