NIC: Snow days needed

My name is Hope Allen and I am a student at North Idaho College. The last snow storm we had, despite 76 school districts closed due to “inclement weather,” NIC stayed open. Despite the roads being extremely hazardous and unsafe they wouldn’t close. With the snowfall Tuesday, I am expected the same outcome.

I am a single parent and so are many of my classmates and when the Coeur d’Alene School District closes and not NIC, many of us students are left with no options for child care and forced to take our kids to class with us. I have made several comments to NIC on Facebook and Instagram as to why they refuse to close when the weather is obviously very dangerous to travel in and gotten no response. Please help me and my fellow NIC students be heard.
