Fast Five: Hindsight Tattoo's Zach Gallegos
Tell us about yourself:
Generation: I was born in 1985 but I probably relate to Generation X more than millennials.
Business and community involvement: I have been tattooing since 2004 and I am currently an artist at Hindsight Tattoo Gallery. I am an Idaho native.
1. What is the most exciting thing about being a tattoo artist and the owner of Hindsight?
Tattooing is an interesting career. Every tattoo is different — the approach of the idea or style, the area of the body. You have to appeal to the client with a different mindset to give them an original tattoo, sometimes leaving the client and artist comfort zone to accomplish the task.
2. What is the most creative tattoo you've ever done?
I have been very lucky to be able to do fun, creative tattoos throughout my career. I don't have a favorite. Maybe the next tattoo I do will be my favorite ...
3. What is one of your favorite things to do in North Idaho?
I love North Idaho. The ability to be in a national forest within minutes. Between the lakes, creeks, mountains and rivers. I will never leave this place. I love being in the outdoors.
4. What is something people would be surprised to learn about you?
I am a movie addict. I literally own thousands of DVDs.
5. If you could visit any time in history, when, where and why would you go?
I would like to visit the Baroque period (1600s) to watch my favorite artist work. Gian Lorenzo Bernini was the very best in my opinion. It would be amazing to watch a real master of the arts.
