Kenneth Lee Owens, 81

It is with great sadness that our father, Kenneth Lee Owens, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, Feb. 2, 2019, surrounded by family.

Ken was born July 27, 1937, in Kansas City, Mo., and passed away in Post Falls, Idaho. He served six years in the United States Air Force and was retired from the United States Postal Service.

Ken was an active member of the American Legion and the Fraternal Order of Eagles of Post Falls, as well as in Missouri and California. He also volunteered at the Kootenai County Humane Society for many years.

Ken was preceded in death by his wife of over 50 years, Patricia Marie (Reagan) Owens in 2015; his father, Herbert Owens; mother, Myrtle Lovellette and step-father, Lester Lovellette.

Ken is survived by his three children: Deborah Martin, James Owens and Karen Owens; son-in-law, Mark Martin; grandchildren, Jared Martin, Breanna Martin Lopez and Zachary Martin; “adopted sons,” Craig Morris and Chuck Humphreys; along with brothers, sisters, cousins, numerous nieces and nephews and many amazing friends.

Our family would like to thank our father’s doctors over the years for their wonderful care. Also, a special thank you to the Hospice of North Idaho and the Schneidmiller House for the compassion and respect they gave our father at the end of his life.

No memorial service is planned per Dad’s wishes, but a celebration of his life will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 9, 2019, at The American Legion, 1138 E. Poleline Ave., Post Falls, ID 83854.
