SCHOOLS: A funding reminder
We seniors may complain about the upcoming vote but parents, let’s be realistic. Suppose it costs the school district $5,000 to educate your child for one year, $20,000 if you have four children in public schools. If you can’t come up with those monies by way of your Idaho income, property, sales and other taxes, someone else has to make up the difference.
Someone else may be seniors, singles or couples who have no children in school. Someone else may have purchased homes, cars, food and other items with earned out-of-Idaho income, thereby indirectly creating jobs for Idahoans. This situation exists all across the country, nothing new.
So parents, be grateful for the extra help to pay for your child’s education and don’t complain when rightful citizens may protest unfairness or extra levies and bonds.
