Donna Mae Bergman, 84

Donna Bergman passed away after a long illness on Jan. 12, 2019, in Post Falls, Idaho. Donna was born in Hauser Lake, Idaho, on May 26, 1934.

Born the 13th out of 14 children to Paul and Irene Taisey, Donna grew up and attended school in St. Maries, Idaho. She spoke very fondly of her memories growing up and the fun adventures she had in her youth. Donna graduated from St. Maries High School in 1952. During her high school years she was active in many school activities, which included being a cheerleader, class officer and drum majorette.

It was in St. Maries that Donna met her husband, Eugene “Gene” Bergman. They were married nearly 62 years until his death in May, 2016. After their wedding in St. Maries in 1954, they moved to Louisiana, where Gene was stationed while serving in the USAF. From there, employment with the Boeing company’s Minuteman Missile Program took the young family to many missile sites in the United States. The family settled in the Seattle area in 1963, where they lived until retirement took them back to Hauser in 1990.

Donna is survived by her daughter, Diana (David) Langton of Spokane Valley, Wash.; sons, Michael Bergman from Salmon, Idaho; Jeffrey Bergman of Post Falls, Idaho; and Lane (Kathy) Bergman of Turner, Ore. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Of her siblings she is survived by Billie Jean (Dewey) Spooner of St. Maries; Donald (Jana) Taisey of Sun Lake, Ariz., and Lyle (Almuth) Taisey of Lebanon, Ore.

Donna will enter into rest next to her husband at Woodlawn Cemetery in St. Maries. Per her request, no services will be held. A celebration of life will be held at a later date to celebrate the lives of Donna and Gene. Once details have been determined they will be posted on the English Funeral Chapel website at englishfuneralchapel.com. Please feel free to sign Donna’s online memorial guest book on this website as well.
