SCHOOLS: Cut number districts
I see tax and spend school districts are at it again, wanting more phony levies proposed. We’ve lived here more than 18 years and have seen many school levies, most passing, ripping more money out of taxpayers pockets!
Idaho has 115 public school districts for 44 counties and 1.6 million in state population. As I see it, that’s an extreme total rip-off of taxpayers, especially senior citizens like my wife and myself. I feel senior citizens should be exempt from school taxes!
There should be only one school district per county. No more that one per county. We lived in Nevada for more than 36 years before coming here, and never saw any school tax levies once. Nevada has 23 counties and more than a 4 million state population and less than 30 public school districts, so if you feel like us, call or write to Idaho lawmakers and complain to them like I have.
I think what I say to this Legislature has been a waste of time as an individual hoping for change that could save many millions of dollars for Idaho taxpayers, more money to teachers, eliminate rip-off of the excessive number of public school districts, cut the number of districts to only ONE per county, no more state school board should reorganize its districts management.
