PARTY: Bring it on
In the Jan. 29 article, “Pick Your Party,” some local “non-partisan” City Council members objected to the proposed resolution stating national politics have no place in local affairs.
Oh really? Was that the case when Gookin and his leftist (yes, leftist) council members refused to rescind the mentioned “anti-discrimination” ordinance, even when repeatedly informed it clearly violated our Idaho Constitution’s “liberty of conscience” clause? I personally informed Gookin of this on more than one occasion and yet to this day he still promotes this unconstitutional ordinance. By the way, this anti-discrimination ordinance was a direct product of a “national” leftist campaign to pass in cities nationwide.
With the Democrat Party’s undisputed lurch toward radical Marxist ideology, it’s now imperative to reveal if local candidates are affiliated with it, because that means tacit approval of their radicalized “ideals.” These “ideals” do not remain at the national level, but certainly make their way down into local policy. Coeur d’Alene’s “anti-discrimination” ordinance is, ironically, a perfect example of this. These leftist “ideals” are destructive to our civil society, anti-American and have no place in overwhelmingly conservative North Idaho.
No more hiding unpopular and destructive motives behind a “Hello, my name is Non-Partisan” name tag.
