KELLOGG — Freshman Hailey Cheney totaled 12 points and 12 rebounds for her second double-double in three games, and the host Kellogg Wildcats beat the Wallace Miners 48-12 in the championship game of the Silver Valley Tournament on Saturday afternoon at Andrews Gymnasium.

Sammy Seymour added 11 points for Kellogg (2-1), which used full-court man-to-man pressure in the first half to build a 34-7 halftime lead.

“We ran the floor really well, forced a lot of turnovers and played really solid defense,” Kellogg coach Jana Kothe said.

Saturday’s third-place game between Clark Fork and the Kellogg junior varsity was canceled. Clark Fork, which headed home after Friday’s game, encountered transportation problems heading back to Kellogg on Saturday.
