| November 1, 2018 11:14 AM

POST FALLS — A 44-year-old Post Falls man was arrested on Wednesday night for felony domestic battery in the presence of a child and attempted strangulation. According to the Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to the 4600 block of East Woodland Drive near Post Falls at 8:30 p.m. due to a 911 call of someone screaming in the background.

Upon arrival, deputies contacted a female who appeared to be the victim of domestic violence.

The suspect, William P. Plummer, would not respond and appeared to be barricading himself inside the home.

Due to the seriousness of the alleged offense and Plummer refusing to contact deputies on scene, the KCSO deployed the Kootenai County multi-agency SWAT team.

Once on scene, SWAT members ensured the safety of the other nearby residents and attempted to communicate with Plummer, according to the KCSO

A “short period of time later,” Plummer was arrested without further incident, a press release states.

Citing the active investigation, the KCSO did not release any more information on the incident.
