EAGLE — Coeur d’Alene scored seven runs in the second inning en route to a 9-3 victory over West Valley of Eagle/Star/Middleton in the deciding game of the best-of-3 series for the Little League 12U state title Sunday at Duck Alley Fields.

West Valley forced a deciding game with a 12-2 victory on Saturday.

Coeur d’Alene advances to the Northwest Regionals in San Bernardino, Calif., beginning Aug. 5 for a chance to advance to the Little League World Series in Williamsport, Pa.

Coeur d’Alene earned its first trip to regionals since 2013, when it reached the semifinals.

On Sunday, Chris Reynolds struck out 13 and walked one in 5 1/3 innings.

Reynolds, Cooper Erickson, Austin DeBoer, Cooper Smith and Braeden Newby each drove in runs in the second inning for Coeur d’Alene.

On Saturday, West Valley scored seven runs in the first inning and four in the second.

Coeur d’Alene scored twice in the fourth inning on hits by Cooper Smith and Schwarzer.

EAGLE — Zach Bell struck out five on Saturday as Coeur d’Alene beat Southwest Ada of southwest Boise and southeast Meridian 8-3 to sweep the best-of-3 series for the 11U state title 2-0 at Duck Alley.

It’s the second straight state title for the Coeur d’Alene 11U all-stars.

Cason Miller and Kyle Johnson each had two hits for Coeur d’Alene, and Travis Usdrowski doubled.

State is the end of the road for the 11U division.
