Prante maintains lead after second day of Lilac

Shane Prante of Olympia, Wash., maintained his three-shot lead after the second round of the Lilac City Invitational on Friday at The Fairways at West Terrace, near Cheney.

Prante shot 69 and is at 9-under 135 after 36 holes.

Drew Reinland of Clarkston Country Club shot 70 and is at 6-under 138. Four golfers, including Community Colleges of Spokane coach Corey Prugh, are tied for third at 3-under 141.

North Idaho College coach Russell Grove, the 2013 Lilac champion, shot 75 on Friday and is tied for 13th at even-par 144.

Jason Kimmel of the Coeur d’Alene Golf Club shot 72 on Friday and is at 4-over 148.

In the Championship Amateur Flight, Whitworth rising senior Preston Roth (Lakeland High, CC Spokane) shot 75 and is in third place at 7-over 151, three strokes off the lead. Cameron Flores, a recent Post Falls High grad, shot a second straight 78 and is tied for fourth at 156.

The 72-hole tournament continues today and concludes Sunday.
