Thomas Hammer Coffee to open on West Appleway

Quality coffees and service are emphasized at Thomas Hammer Coffee Roasters, opening soon at 1438 W. Appleway (same building as Firehouse Subs).

The rotating seasonal menu features handcrafted signature beverages highlighting single-origin coffees brewed on state-of-the-art equipment. Food options include breakfast burritos, sandwiches and fresh-baked pastries. They also sell shirts and mugs-cups.

The store features complimentary high-speed WiFi and various seating options, with large tables for group meetings.

CdA Septic fixes water-sewer woes

An excavation-plumbing company with emergency services, Coeur d’Alene Septic Systems has opened as a one-stop shop.

Starting in April at 2111 N. Third St., owner Brandon Beierle, Kyle Beierle and Jordan Kerr offer services 24-7 daily.

“I went into business because no one answered when I had problems of my own,” Brandon said. “We use the best materials and do quality work.”

Motor Tech owner sells business

Fernando Ormos has retired after 25 years of running Motor Tech at 2304 N. Fourth St. The new owner is Jeff Zook of the Dale’s Used Cars locations on Fourth Street.

Opening in mid-July, the business specialty will remain as Ormos had it with European car sales and service. Additions will be financing, trades, warrantees and extended service.

- The Mango Tree, an Indian eatery, will open in the former Fedora location off Kathleen.

- Roger’s Burgers & Ice Cream, already with two places in Cd’A and one in Post Falls, is building a fourth, this one at 8833 N. Hess St. in Hayden.

- Northwest Tea Company will open soon at 4055 N. Government Way (the former Herbie’s Cafe location).

- Collective Kitchen at 501 E. Sherman will open a second eatery in the former Uva location on Lakeside.

- GD Garment District at 311 E. Sherman will open a second location on Fourth Street.

- Watch for Tiffany Blue to the corner location downtown and a new business coming into the old location. A sushi eatery may be coming into 221 E. Sherman.

- A Thai Express eatery will open near Mod Pizza in Crossroads Center at Appleway and Ramsey.

- Great Harvest is closed near Costco and will evidently reopen with new owners. Anyone have info?

- A new Fu-Ki Japanese Steakhouse is under construction where the Kynrede Cafe was at 8885 N. Government Way in Hayden. And a new Human Bean coffee place is under construction behind ICCU in Hayden.

- Watch for a new Beau Monde Exchange and a new Domino’s Pizza in Post Falls.

- Incrediburger & Eggs will build a new place next to Firehouse Subs on Appleway. Idaho Central Credit Union will be across the street.

- New places downtown will be Live For Blu fine art at 505 E. Sherman and The NYC Piano Bar at 313 E. Sherman.

- Ellenbecker Eye Clinic will move this summer from 2140 Riverstone Drive to nearby 2020.

- Hotel news: The Shilo Inn is being remodeled on Appleway and will become a Comfort Suites and Mainstay Suites with 138 rooms, an indoor pool and a meeting room for 50 people. Staybridge Suites hotel is under construction in Riverstone.

- Hmmm. The Dairy Queen and the Burger King are both gone on Appleway. Were they a royal couple?
