“It was a good offensive performance,” Post Falls coach Steve Mills said. “We’re still having trouble finding the back of the net.”

Bonners Ferry 0

BONNERS FERRY — The Hawks played keepaway, and it resulted in coach Jeremiah Beckett’s first win as coach.

Goals by Alex Lycan, Max Baker and Dade McDevitt were the difference for the Hawks against the Badgers in a nonleague match.

“We were able to hold the ball and play keepaway,” Beckett said, “which made it hard for Bonners Ferry to get a lot of shots off. Our defense played really well today and most of their shots were from a distance and they didn’t get much at our goalie.”

Lakeland (1-1) hosts Lake City on Saturday.

First half — 1, LL, Alex Lycan (unassisted), 32:00. 2, LL, Max Baker (Dylan Knight), 38:00. Second half — 3, LL, Dade McDevitt (unassisted), 57:00.
