CHEERS: For LCHS baseball
Every year I hear North Idaho schools buzzing about making it to state sports tournaments in Boise where they face off with those winners. Funny how things happen.
Last summer I attended all of the American Legion AA home baseball games at Ramsey Park in Coeur d’Alene. Those young men were impressive and professional. Months later while attending a Lake City High baseball game, I recognized a half dozen players from the legion games I had attended. Again the sportsmanship and camaraderie of this team and their coaching staff was extraordinary and it was no surprise when they won the local championship and a trip to Boise for this opportunity.
So impressed with them, this fan drove to Boise to share the thrill of a group like this playing their best. They were the rhythm section of a strong band but on a field. Bravo to all and kudos to Lake City High School for supporting a strong and positive athletic department.
