Elks plan Flag Day ceremony
The Coeur d’Alene Elks invite the public to join them in honoring Flag Day on Friday, June 17.
There will be a short ceremony on the history of U.S. flags, followed by a ceremonial burning of old flags. Community members with old flags they would like to have burned during the ceremony are encouraged to bring them to the Elks Lodge at 1170 Prairie Ave. Flags can be dropped off Mondays through Thursdays between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. and Fridays between 10 a.m. and noon.
For questions, call the Elks Lodge at (208) 772-4049.
The Blanchard Community Center is hosting a discussion about climate change on Thursday, June 9 at 7 p.m.
The public is encouraged to come participate in the discussion led by guest speakers Bill Irving and Lee Koffler. Opinions from both sides of the issue are welcome, and refreshments will be provided at the center, at 685 Rusho Lane.
