VOTE: Amador, Malek, Riggs

“I think everyone who has a computer has a library.” This is Rep. Kathy Sims’s argument for making it more difficult for libraries to get public funding.

I find it quite sad that Rep. Sims is so out of touch with her community that she discounted the importance of a public library. I have witnessed firsthand the positive impact that our local library has on people of all ages. Not everyone has a computer or Internet access and if it wasn’t for local libraries, these citizens wouldn’t have access to books and technology in order to read the news, seek employment, or learn more about political candidates. We don’t need this arrogance representing us in Boise.

It is now time to act. We don’t have the luxury of sitting by and hoping the right candidate is selected; you need to be part of the process. We have a strong trio of candidates — Amador, Malek and Riggs — who are prepared to listen and represent the citizens of our great community. They will make a positive difference, unlike those who have only been representing their own personal interests.

May 17 is quickly approaching and I strongly urge all Kootenai County citizens to get out and vote! This is a closed primary and you have to be a registered Republican to participate. If you are an unaffiliated voter, you can affiliate at the polls. If you are unable to make it to the polls, you can go by the elections office and vote early.

Vote Amador and Malek for District 4, and Riggs for District 3.
