Roger Henry 'Tireman' Kellmer, 73

Roger Henry “Tireman” Kellmer, 73, passed away Thursday, May 5, 2016, in Bayview, Idaho. He was born May 27, 1942, in Snoqualmie, Wash., the son of Henry and Maude Idell (Wolverton) Kellmer.

He served in the U.S. Navy, enlisting on Dec. 6, 1960, in Spokane, Wash., and served as ADJ3 (E-4). He was honorably discharged on Dec. 5, 1966.

Roger was raised in Potlatch, Idaho, and was a longtime resident of Wallace and Bayview, Idaho. “Tireman” was owner of Kellmers Tire and Kellmers Café in Wallace, Idaho, with his ex-wife Shirley Kellmer.

“Tireman” was an avid fisherman, compassionate and loving father, grandfather and friend to many he loved dearly.

Survivors include his daughters, Rebecca Stassel of Post Falls, Idaho, Angela Hyatt of Elizabethton, Tenn., and Karen Prather of Athens, Ga.; stepchildren John, Dana and Chris Manning; 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Lifelong best friends, Robert and Betty Lightfield of Roseville, Calif., also survive.

He was preceded in death by his father, Henry Kellmer; mother Idell Kellmer; daughter Sandra Dee Kellmer and ex-wife Mary Prather.

A celebration of life memorial will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 14, 2016, at JD’s Resort in Bayview, Idaho, with Military Honors provided by American Legion Post No. 149.

He is now with the Supreme Commander, Fair Winds and Calm Seas.
