MALEK: He'll work for you

I want to thank the Kootenai County Reagan Republicans for hosting the debate last week between Rep. Luke Malek and Art Macomber. It was a fantastic forum that was very well attended. I was shocked at the aggressive comments that Art Macomber made against Rep. Malek during the debate. It became very obvious that Mr. Macomber’s only attempt to outshine Rep. Malek was by insulting him and making up lies about Rep. Malek’s work ethic and work history.

I have had the opportunity to build a friendship with Rep. Malek over the last four years and can say without a doubt he is one of the hardest working and most compassionate men I know. Rep. Malek has always listened to and voted for what’s best not just for the citizens of his legislative district, but for all Idahoans. I am a firefighter who traveled from Eagle to witness Governor Butch Otter sign a piece of legislation the day prior, identifying the hazards of firefighting and covering certain cancers under Workers Comp. Your firefighters in Idaho have been working for 16 years to pass this legislation. It was not until Luke Malek went to bat for your firefighters in Idaho that we were able to get this legislation passed.

Rep. Malek is an effective and kindhearted leader that every citizen in the state should be proud to have represent them. I urge you to support Luke Malek May 17. Idaho needs results, not insults!
