POST FALLS — The Post Falls Trojans continued their march to a 5A Inland Empire League title on Tuesday at The Arena, routing the Lake City Timberwolves, 76-51.

Post Falls stayed undefeated in league play and won its sixth game in a row. The Trojans (13-5, 4-0 5A IEL) has two league games left, Saturday at Coeur d’Alene and next Friday at Lewiston. They are two games ahead of Lewiston, who lost 60-56 at Coeur d’Alene.

“I thought our first half defense was unacceptable for us,” Post Falls coach Mike McLean said. “I thought we didn’t have the focus we needed. I thought Lake City did a good job of attacking us. In the second half, I thought our defensive intensity was way better, we did the things we’ve practiced and that was the difference. Our defensive assignments were done correctly, and that led to easy scoring opportunities.”

Jake Pfennigs finished with 17 points, 11 rebounds and three assists for the Trojans. Zach Hillman added 13 points to go with four assists. Cameron McKeown hit three 3-pointers off the bench and Wyatt Millsap had seven points and three steals.

Lake City (5-12, 0-5) was led in scoring by junior guard Kenneth Louie-McGee, who scored 10 points. Kyle Manzardo added nine points.
