PREP BOYS SOCCER: McLuskie nets 4 for Vikings

COEUR d’ALENE — Gavin McLuskie scored four unassisted goals to lead the Coeur d’Alene junior varsity over St. Maries 7-3 in a match moved to Coeur d’Alene High due to unheathful conditions in St. Maries with wildfire smoke.

Matt Masterson had two goals for the Lumberjacks, with Gage Mitchell adding an unassisted score.

Joey Fraser added two goals for the Coeur d’Alene JV.

St. Maries (1-2-1) is slated to host Orofino on Thursday.

SPIRIT LAKE — Cody Bentley scored five goals, Denton Meijerink added two goals and three assists and Timberlake shut out the Lakeland junior varsity.

“We need to get some other guys scoring — not just Cody,” Timberlake coach Bert Bentley said. “We are super excited about having Bonners tonight — that should be a good test for us.”

Sheldon Kistler made six saves for Timberlake (4-0), which host Bonners Ferry tonight at 7:30.
