Gerard B. Krellwitz 'Jerry,' 69

Gerard B. Krellwitz “Jerry,” 69, of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, went home to heaven on Aug. 21, 2016, after an intense and courageous fight with cancer. Jerry was born on Nov. 4, 1946, in Plainfield, N.J., son of Dietrich and Alice Krellwitz.

He graduated from South Plainfield High School in 1964, completed a Bachelor’s degree at North Eastern Bible College in 1968 and received his master’s degree at Trinity Divinity School in Chicago, Ill., in 1972. After graduation from seminary, he served as pastor of Midland Park Reformed Church in New Jersey. He went on to work for World Vision for many years, a nonprofit Christian organization working to help children and communities out of poverty. He then developed a successful career in financial planning with The Legend Group in San Dimas, Calif. He had a heart for God and serving others, loved spending time with his family, and loved baseball (Go Dodgers), golf and boating on Lake Coeur d’Alene.

Jerry is remembered with love by his wife, Sherry Krellwitz; daughter Jacquelyn Bradbard and son-in-law Greg; son Jonathan Krellwitz and daughter-in-law Christa; stepson Michael Turnette and daughter-in-law Carrie; stepson Thomas Turnette and daughter-in-law Brittney; six grandchildren and one on the way; sisters Patricia Hand of Newport News, Va., and Gail Burnett of Graham, N.C.; and his two chocolate labs, Star and Splash.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 29, 2016, at Lake City Church in Coeur d’Alene and at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 17, 2016, at Hillside Community Church in Alta Loma, Calif.

Jerry had a heart for global missions and had been praying about going to serve in Zimbabwe this summer with TEAM. TEAM, The Evangelical Alliance Mission is a global missions agency that partners with local churches internationally to send missionaries and establish churches among the nations, going where people have great needs and proclaiming the gospel in both word and action.
