Indians shut out Tri-City

PASCO, Wash. — Sal Mendez and Tyler Stubblefield combined on a shutout for the Spokane Indians in a 2-0 win over the Tri-City Dust Devils in Northwest League baseball in front of 2,321 at Gesa Stadium on Thursday.

Spokane (8-6) took a 1-0 lead on an RBI single by Leody Tavaras in the top of the fifth inning. Charles Leblanc tripled leading off the eighth and scored on a wild pitch to give Spokane an insurance run in the eighth.

Tri-City is 5-9.

Spokane returns home to face Eugene starting tonight at 6:30 at Avista Stadium.
