POEM: Ode To The Prairie

| August 10, 2016 9:00 PM

The verdant crops stretch for miles

To the Guardians of the soils, spring rains bring smiles

Red Tail hawks soaring in the sunny skies

Seeking rodents for their fledglings nearby

Coyotes at night scurrying for prey

Disappearing to their dens at the break of day

From Post Falls to Rathdrum the Prairie is alive

While those who love and respect it, wonder if it will survive
